Less than 2 miles DOWN the road from us there are Billy Knott's fishing lakes. These are stocked with prime freshwater fish - Cornish Carp (always good for a fight!) Bream, Rudd, Roach and even eels. These are in 2 lakes totalling around 4 acres. Billy is a registered English NFA coach and has a vast wealth of experience to offer young and old, able bodied or handicapped. He says that with his advice on bait etc, anybody - even a first timer - will be guaranteed to land a fish. The stuff of memories.

Less than 2 miles UP the road from us there is Tree Meadow Trout fisheries. A Troutmaster Water which totals 4.5 acres of gin clear water set in a wooded valley. It is regarded as Cornwall's premier large fish fishery and holds the Cornish Rainbow Trout record of 22lb 4oz. Casting lessons can be had with APGAI & STANNIC Qualified Instructor Gary Champion. Fresh Trout anyone?

HAYLE SEA ANGLING

Hayle is on Cornwall's North Coast, and is actually on St Ives Bay. There is good beach fishing around Hayle, especially around the Estuary and the mud flats, which if you go further out change into golden clean sand. The target fish are Mullet, Flatties, and Bass. At Godrevy Point you can fish from the rocks and go for Mackerel, Pollock and Wrasse. Both of these locations are around 10 minutes away from Killanoon, but there are many places all along the North Coast ideal for sea angling.

LOCAL SEA FISHING FROM A BOAT

There are quite a few people offering boat trips for fishing, aquatic discovery or just pleasure - usually in 2 hour, 4 hour or 8 hour trips ranging from mackerel fishing in local waters or deep sea fishing. Anybody taking out paying customers has to be licensed and is thoroughly checked for safety etc. See the links page for more details.
